Jayashankar M. Swaminathan is the Kay and Van Weatherspoon Distinguished Professor and Senior Associate Dean for Academic  at the Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill.
 
 
 
Professor Swaminathan is an internationally recognized teacher, researcher and thought leader in global operations, innovation and supply chain strategy. His most recent interests relate to managing operations in emerging economies in particular China and India. An award winning scholar, his thoughts have appeared in various media and business outlets.
 
 

Professor Swaminathan has also consulted and taught executive programs over the last 15 years fa number of firms. He is a sought after public speaker and has given over 100 presentations worldwide including keynote address for conferences.
 

He obtained his doctoral and masters degrees in Industrial Administration from  Carnegie Mellon University and his bachelors degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Prior to joining Kenan-Flagler Business School he was an assistant professor at Walter A. Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.
